Conscience

Today for Religous Education I learnt this new word called " conscience ". Conscience is a part of me me which enables me whether something is right or wromg.

G.I carnival

PARADE

WHAT FUN! It was the Glenn Innes carnival. We marched from G.I primary to the G.I shopping centre. After the march we had to wait for our turn to preform an island dance.

When it was time to preform we got up to the stage and preform our three items. It was really embarrassing dancing in front of my school mates.

But it was worth it.

Once when the preferment's was over Simone and I went for a look around the shops. When we found our friends we went and look for some interesting stuff. We went back to the stage and watched some other items.

What a day. When the carnival finished people disappeared back home but some stayed to clean up. When I got home I went for a sleep.

Maths Reflection 23/9/11

During maths this week I learnt how to find out how many ones, tens, hundreds and thousands are in all of a whole number.

For E.G
The zoo only accepts $10 notes for entry.
How many $10 notes would be needed if Mr Green’s class cost $260?

260 divided by 10 = 26
He would need 26 $10 notes.

This week I’ve been learning to use reversibility as a strategy.
For e.g. 137 - 68 if you can’t do that you just revers it. 68 + ? = 137

My Holiday

During the last week of school holidays I deiced I should make use of it and hang out with some of my rugby mates. We deiced we should go Sylvia Park and watch Harry Porter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.


When we went to cinema 3 we all went looking for our seats, as soon as we found our seats we waited in silent for the movie to start. Suddenly all the light in the cinema turn off and the movie started. As the movie went on we munched on our popcorn. We suddenly felt bored & some of us fell asleep. I stayed up and watched the whole movie. It was awesome.

When the movie finished we went back to the train station and waited for the train to come and pick us up. When I arrived home I went to sleep and had a dream that I was Harry Porter.

My swimming highlight

My highlight in the new portable swimming pool was when I glided from one side to the other. Even though I was sinking I still had fun trying.
Swimming in a portable pool was cool. I’m looking forward for more fun activities. `

Homework or no Homework

HOMEWORK

Homework has helped me a lot.

First of all, I need homework because I need to learn more and it’s like doing school work. Homework is good, so we can learn more and get us where we suppose to be on. For me I think I need more homework because I’m not good at all subjects. Doing homework is letting your parents know what you are doing at school.

Homework is a good way of helping people. You can get a scholarship for a great college. Homework can help everyone to get a good future and it helps you learn heaps. Plus It can upgrade your brain to even more better levels. It could help increase me in my writing.

I go to school to learn and having homework could help you learn even more.
Watching television gets you no where but, doing homework gets you somewhere even better.

I am a leader

I AM A LEADER BECAUSE I HAVE THESE QUALITIES:-

1. I am not afraid to tell people off when they do something wrong.

2. I help people do the right thing. I am a good role model.

Buoyancy

In room7 for Integrated Studies we are studying Buoyancy (floating & sinking). Floating is when an object is floating above the surface, and Sinking is when an object is below the surface.

Maths Reflection

During maths this week I learnt about my measurement. Measurement is like measuring a pencil, or a door, etc. To measure a door you would have to use (cm) center meter or a (m) meter. From St Pius the tenth catholic school to Tamaki college it’s 5 (km) Kilo meter.
Also I've learnt my reversibility. For example 55 + 20 so you swap it around and it's 20 + something = 55 so the answer is 35.

Pentecost

In Room 7 our topic in Religious Education was Pentecost & the Ascension. This is my title page of Pentecost. Jesus promised the apostle that he will sent them the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is how the Tongue of fire appeared to the Apostle. The apostle had the tongue of fire on there heads because they all believe in Jesus the Messiah.

Yr 8 Retreat

As we got to St. Francis center the yr8 was welcomed from Br Phillip. The first thing we did was to go to the chapel and to light our candles. After we finished lighting all our candles we all went to our rooms and put our bags in our rooms and came back to the activity room ready for the first activity.

My favourite activity was the treasure hunt. We had to all hold a long toilet paper and look for six clues. We found our first clue with a little help from a helper named Joanne. In the next clue we had help again but not from Joanne, but from Br Philip. We soon found our third & fourth clue, but again we were helped to find our last clue not from Joanne, and not from Br Philip but from Miss Ana.

Holy spirit in the Scripture

Today I learnt Psalm 142.5 is about when you are in a really bad mess you pray to the lord and he will answer.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Help me to forgive others and to love one another .Thank you for giving me a father like you.Help me to forgive people who have done something bad, may I be forgiving like you.

Francis Athletics

L.I: To be able to include 5 short sharp sentences in your athletics writing.

On Friday, Saint Pius had athletics. I helped set up the field. The day started with the five yrs old. I walked them up to the starting line, on your marks get set bang the to bricks went,' run run I shouted'. Today I am going to try my best now it was my age group to run. On your marks get set go I run, and, and, I ran and I lost. clap went the crowd.

Lunch time the rang. we munched,and,munched and,drank lots of water. The bell rang again so that meant lunch is finished. We quickly ran back to the field and sat at our house groups. 200 meters was up next. I quickly ran when Mr Gaffney banged the two bricks did I come first no said Mr Coakley. Novelty races were up next for the Juniors, and relays was up for the Senior syndicate. After the juniors finished their novelty races the relays were up next. The tui’s won the whole relay and, the Geckos won the chant and the competition. At the end of the day we all went home with a big smile on our face.

The day of ashes

On Wednesday we, Saint Pius the tenth had a Ash Wednesday mass. First I got change in to the altar service clothes and serve the mass. We started at the back and walked slowly back to the front while the entrance hum was being sung,as soon as I got to the front I bowed to the altar and went to our seats. After the song the readers said some prayers. Then sums then prayers again. Finally its time, we are going to bless our baby's. As soon as we finished we ended the mass with the final song and walked slowly back.
